Well Alex no one forced you to leave. You join the illustrious list of players who left Arsenal for a bigger club and a plenty more time on the bench. Add your name to Anelka, Edu, Stefan Schwarz, Flamini et al in regretting leaving the Gunners.

Wenger can spend the proceeds of the Adebayor transfer at his leisure

I’m not 100% sure that we need to splash out on a striker; however the need for a centre midfielder is imperative. Boss, please just don’t neglect buying a centre midfielder like you did last year. Song came on leaps and bounds as the season progressed but we desperately need a bit of experience in the centre of the park.

One forward we have now been linked to is Toulouse striker Andre- Pierre Gignac. The Daily Mail believes we are interested in last season’s top scorer in the French league and Toulouse are willing to do a deal at the £18m mark.

I can’t see that there’s much truth in this one to be honest. We might hold an interest in the player but rumoured the price tag is far too high for someone who’s had one good season.

Myles Palmer believes Man City are back in for Kolo Toure.

Not sure about Myles’ reliable source but we all know City were in for Kolo earlier on this season. We currently have six first team centre backs at the club, which is two too many in my opinion. I think we will definitely be moving a couple on. If we could let Toure go for between £12- £15m it would be a great piece of business. Toure has been a stalwart of our defence since 03/04 but his performances have declined in the last 18 months. I love Toure but the price tag seems too good for a player who may just be on the wrong side of the hill. I’d still rather let Silvestre left though!

More tomorrow.
