Close the door on your way out please Adebayor

Obviously the only place to start today is with Emmanuel Adebayors impending move to Manchester City.

There were reports this morning that Adebayor had passed a medical at Eastlands and now SkySports amongst a number of other sources are reporting that he has now been granted a work permit

It seems as though it’s only a matter of time before we see Adebayor pull on the blue shirt of Manchester City. No matter what your personal views on Ade, we are undoubtedly going to miss his goals and he will need replacing in the Arsenal squad.

However it seems our attempts to replace Ade with Marouane Chamakh are shuddering to a halt.

Bordeaux apparently want Mikael Silvestre in part exchange and Le Boss is unwilling to let the ex Man Utd man go. Now surely Wenger would be willing to let Silvestre go, he’s about 5th or 6th choice centre back and at best 3rd choice left back, and most importantly is a bit poo. Let him go boss whether it means getting Chamakh or not.The article goes on to state that we may turn our attention to Real Madrid’s Huntelaar. To me he would be a perfect replacement for Ade. He is positionally aware, a good finisher, strong on the ball, good in the air, pretty much perfect for us and he scored the first ever goal at the Emirates. Sounds too good to be true to be honest

Arsenal target Felipe Melo has officially signed for Juventus

Oh well plenty more fish in the sea. He seemed a bit too expensive for someone who has only really come to prominence in the last 18 months.

More tomorrow
