Jack the lad and an Arsenal roundup.

The Jack Wilshere show continued at the Emirates Cup yesterday. Jack was again man of the match as he bagged two goals in our 3-0 victory against Glasgow Rangers.

Jack was playing in a strong Arsenal team including Almunia, Fab, Rosicky, Arshavin and Eduardo, yet he still managed to produce another stand out performance. The technique displayed for his second goal was sublime and he really looks at home in our first team already. Wenger was attempting to dampen the expectation surrounding Jack after his performance on Saturday, but yesterday he was even better. Sky and the media have been very quick to jump on the “Wilshere for England” bandwagon but if Jack concentrates on establishing himself with us all that will naturally follow. His potential is amazing and harnessed correctly we will have a genuine world class player on our hands within a couple of years.

Big John Hartson is continuing his long battle to overcome cancer.

He has been showing signs of improvement in the last week and will now begin Chemo this week. All I can say is good luck John my thoughts are with you.

Bordeaux are demanding that we up our offer for Mourane Chamakh.

We have apparently offered just over £6m for the Moroccan forward with the French club wanting closer to £12m for him. He is rumoured to be in London after he pulled out of Bordeaux’ friendly against Villarreal last night after claiming he was ill. There seems to be some substance to this story and I wouldn’t at all be surprised if we saw him sign by the end of the week.

More tomorrow....
