Tomas Rosicky’s preparation for the new season has been interrupted by injury.

He pulled a hamstring in training yesterday and will miss the first six weeks of the season. I feel sorry for Rosicky as he had to battle against injury for the last 18months and finally as the first team is in sight he gets injured again. Hopefully this is just a minor setback and he is back playing for the Gunners in September. This has however created an opportunity for Wilshere, Vela or Merida to make the step up. We'll get an idea of Wengers thinking at the weekend when we take on Valencia.
Our Chairman Peter Hill- Wood has dismissed speculation linking Milan to a bid for our captain.

Well done Pete.
We find out tomorrow who we're facing in the Champions League qualifying round. We can only get one of Atletico Madrid, Fiorentina, Celtic, Anderlecht or FC Timosara due to a change in Uefa's qualifying format.
For a review of the teams we could face see the below link.

I'm obviously hoping we get the Romanian runners up. Ideally we'd like to stay away from Atletico and Fiorentina. We'll see who we get tomorrow.
Paddy's not quite ready to return home.

We might not be in for Vieira but at least the boss is looking to strengthen us defensively.
More tomorrow when I'll discuss our Champions League opponents in detail....
